Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc was founded on January 16, 1920 at Howard University with the principals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood.

The Phi Iota Chapter was chartered on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on February 1, 1980 with 15 young ladies.
